The Mid-Ohio Valley Fellowship Home provides a safe, structured, and nurturing residential environment for people in recovery. Recent Community Action Grants Program funding from the PACF has played a critical role in sustaining the organization’s “Continuum of Care” project, providing stable housing and overnight staffing for residents in the sober living program.
According to Executive Director Brandy Blatt, "Ensuring that residents feel safe and supported 24/7 is a key component of their long-term success."
With dedicated overnight staff in place, residents have access to supervision, crisis intervention, and compassionate support around the clock, ensuring safety, stability, and peace of mind. At the same time, grant support has helped offset rising housing and utility costs, which have placed increasing strain on residential recovery programs across the region.
The $20,000 grant awarded in the spring of 2025 was made possible by the Walter E. and Marie Ausenheimer Memorial Fund and the Dennis and Ruby Farley Memorial Fund. The funding has helped ensure that the mission of the Mid-Ohio Valley Fellowship Home continues, day and night, for those who need it most.
Blatt shared, "One of the most meaningful impacts of this project has been the ability to provide stability and hope to individuals who previously had nowhere safe to continue their recovery journey. A resident entered our program after experiencing homelessness, separation from family, and long-term substance use. Through the support of structured recovery housing, peer support, case management, and community partnerships, the resident was able to regain stability, maintain sobriety, secure employment, and begin rebuilding healthy relationships with loved ones. Over time, the individual became actively involved in the recovery community, began mentoring peers, and developed goals for long-term independence. The project not only impacted this resident’s life, but also contributed to a safer and healthier community by reducing instability and increasing access to recovery support services."
Stories like this demonstrate how recovery housing and supportive services can create lasting change for individuals, families, and the community as a whole.
