The Children's Home Society's Parkersburg office received a COVID-19 relief grant in the amount of $5,625 from the Safety Net Fund in August of 2021. This grant helped the organization purchase equipment to replace outdated technology. The new desk computers and laptops allow for better virtual meetings and more effective virtual supervision of staff and clients.

"These computers have been invaluable to staff who have struggled with outdated computers and technology that we did not realize would be an issue before the pandemic." said Denise Hughes, Site Director with Children's Home Society. "The new computers have enabled staff to do their jobs more effectively and with less interruptions or without the need to use another staff member's computer. Staff have also been able to to participate in important meetings as they are now able to use virtual platforms from their laptops alleviating the need to use their phones."
