The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) is excited to announce that the West Virginia Central Federal Credit Union (WVCFCU) Day of Giving application period is now open on the PACF grant portal. This initiative continues to empower local nonprofits by providing them with the resources needed to make a lasting impact in the community.
In 2024, the WVCFCU Day of Giving assisted more than 200 area nonprofits, distributing more than $240,000 to support various causes, including education, healthcare, and community development. Selected grantees are celebrated each year in late October during WV Central’s annual Day of Giving, hosted in Vienna, WV.
The PACF plays a crucial role in this partnership by promoting the Day of Giving and overseeing the grant application program. WVCFCU owns and drives the initiative, ensuring that the funds are directed to organizations that align with their mission of supporting children, seniors, and veterans.
Michael A. Tucker, President/CEO of WVCFCU, shared his enthusiasm for the initiative: “WV Central's members, officials, and staff aspire to make a true difference in the lives of those around us. Pablo Picasso once said, 'The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.' Our local communities have embraced WV Central as part of their family; and because of that, we are committed to sharing our gifts with as many worthy programs as possible. Our priority is to have a positive impact with children, seniors, and veterans.”

Julie Posey, Senior Development and Stewardship Officer at the PACF, added, “We are thrilled to partner with WV Central to streamline their charitable giving and amplify their community impact. By managing their Donor Advised Fund, we can leverage our expertise in fund administration to support WV Central’s mission of enhancing the quality of life for children, seniors, and veterans in our community. This collaboration exemplifies the power of collective giving and the positive change it can bring.”
This collaboration between WVCFCU and PACF promises to bring about significant positive change, reinforcing their shared commitment to improving the quality of life within the community.
For more than 60 years, the PACF has been helping individuals, families, and businesses create lasting charitable legacies, building relationships, and expanding its impact across the Mid-Ohio Valley. Eligible nonprofits are encouraged to apply.
