Organizations working for the betterment of Doddridge County recently received $15,000 in grant support from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) and its Doddridge County Community Foundation (DCCF) affiliate through their competitive Community Action Grants Program. The fall 2024 grant recipients include:
- Doddridge County Farmer's Market - $10,000 to support the GROW WITH US initiative.
- WVU Extension - Doddridge 4-H Leaders Association - $5,000 to support capacity building for volunteer leaders by providing resources and club kits.
Jamie Mullins, 4H Extension Agent, shared “We realized that there is this need to really start empowering volunteers with the resources needed, the knowledge and skills to be really successful, and even some curriculum pieces to help their clubs be more vibrant.” She added, “With this grant we are developing a resource that will be a club kit of sorts that will be going out to all our volunteers. We will also be providing trainings to actively prepare them to utilize that.”
