The Lewis County Community Foundation announces the creation of the Seth Stalnaker Memorial Scholarship, established by the friends and family of Darley “Seth” Stalnaker to honor his life and legacy.

Seth, 18, of Ireland, WV, was a member of the Lewis County High School Class of 2024. He was born in Weston on September 13, 2005, a son of William Harold Stalnaker and the late Jessica Ann McCray Stalnaker.  Seth passed away on March 11, 2024.  Known for his intelligence, sense of humor, and strong character, Seth was involved in the school’s ROTC and Drone programs and enjoyed outdoor activities such as four-wheeler riding, hunting, and fishing.  Seth was working toward a bright future and was deeply loved by those who knew him.

The Seth Stalnaker Memorial Scholarship will support students who demonstrate strong moral values, a solid work ethic, future potential, and the ability to overcome obstacles.  To be eligible, applicants must be a current graduating senior or past graduate of Lewis County High School and enrolled in or plan to enroll in a post-secondary education program.   Preference will be given to students attending the Fred W. Eberle Technical Center in Buckhannon, WV.

The Seth Stalnaker Memorial Scholarship is established within the Lewis County Community Foundation (LCCF), a collection of funds administered by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF), a nationally accredited, highly regarded, and widely supported public charity with more than 60 years of experience. 

Individuals who wish to support the fund may do so by mailing a check, made payable to the PACF with Seth Stalnaker Memorial Scholarship on the memo line, to LCCF, c/o PACF, PO Box 1762, Parkersburg, WV 26102.  Donations may also be made online.
