Give Local MOV 2025 Achieves Record-Breaking $531,385 in 24-Hour Campaign
The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation & Regional Affiliates (PACF) is thrilled to announce that the 12th annual Give Local MOV campaign, held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, raised a record-breaking $531,385 in just 24 hours. This achievement represents an increase in both funds raised and donor participation compared to previous years, with 1,351 generous donors contributing to 67 local nonprofit organizations.
Each participating nonprofit has a charitable fund managed by the PACF, ensuring that the funds raised are managed with long-term stewardship. This year’s campaign will support a wide range of critical causes across the Mid-Ohio Valley, including education, health, arts and culture, environmental initiatives, and youth development.
Campaign Highlights
FaithLink emerged as the campaign’s top digital fundraiser, raising a total of $33,240 to support its mission. Several special prizes, sponsored by local businesses and community organizations, helped increase visibility and donor engagement throughout the day. These included awards for the first donation, the most online donors, and surprise “golden tickets” given during peak giving times. The Parkersburg Art Center claimed both the first donation prize and the top number of online donors, with 124 individuals contributing to their campaign.
Julie Posey, the PACF’s Senior Development and Stewardship Officer, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “The overwhelming success of Give Local MOV 2025 shows just how strong and generous our community is. People are giving where their hearts are, and that is exactly what this campaign represents. While the gifts made during this 24-hour event are incredibly important, it’s the long-term, sustainable support — like endowments — that truly strengthens an organization’s ability to grow and serve over time. While Give Local MOV is just one day, it reflects the PACF’s ongoing commitment to helping our region’s nonprofits thrive for years to come.”
National Giving Trends Align with Local Success
The success of Give Local MOV mirrors national trends in charitable giving. According to the 2024 Giving USA report, 63% of donors are more likely to give when they feel personally connected to a cause. The increase in online giving, coupled with participation in campaigns like Give Local MOV, demonstrates how the Mid-Ohio Valley is aligning with national patterns of giving.
Local Nonprofits Reflect on the Campaign’s Impact
Local nonprofit leaders highlighted the importance of Give Local MOV in meeting increased needs in 2025. Judy Watson, Executive Director of the Ritchie County Humane Society, shared, “With the growing demand for our low-cost services in 2025, Give Local MOV provided a crucial opportunity for us to close the gap in our budget. Thanks to 52 generous donors, we raised $26,562. This day of giving not only brought in essential funding, but it also energized our staff, volunteers, and the community. It made it easier for us to rally together and meet the immediate needs of our animals and community.”
Thank You to Our Donors and Sponsors
The PACF extends heartfelt thanks to all donors, sponsors, and participating organizations for their dedication and support. Special thanks to Superior Toyota, the Mary M. Welch Advised Fund, and the PACF Board of Directors for their vital contributions, which helped maximize the campaign’s impact.
