The Doddridge County Community Foundation (DCCF) is inviting community members, donors, and partners to help reach an important milestone: growing its endowment to $2 million by June 30, 2026.  Achieving this goal will strengthen the Foundation’s ability to meet the evolving needs of Doddridge County and invest in meaningful, long-term community projects and programs.

Established in 2000 as a regional affiliate of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, DCCF was created to support charitable giving in Doddridge County.  While the Foundation experienced a period of limited activity in its early years, renewed momentum began in 2015 with the formation of a new advisory board and an influx of new donor support.  Since that time, DCCF has grown steadily into a trusted and active force for good throughout the county.

What began as a single fund has expanded into 26 named funds, all dedicated to improving quality of life through charitable giving and strategic grantmaking.

Over the years, DCCF has awarded more than $660,000 in grants and scholarships, supporting a wide range of organizations and initiatives.  These grants have supported Doddridge County Humane Society, Doddridge County Family Resource Network, Doddridge County 4-H, the Doddridge County Farmers Market, Doddridge County Park, Nazareth Farm, and more.  The Foundation has also awarded hundreds of scholarships, helping local students pursue higher education.

Through generous community support and the creation of new funds, the Foundation’s endowment has grown steadily and now stands at approximately $1.87 million, leaving about $130,000 to reach the $2 million goal.

A strong endowment ensures we can respond not only to today’s needs, but also to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Every contribution helps position the Foundation to continue supporting local organizations, students, and community initiatives.

- Rick Oyler, Chairman of the DCCF Advisory Board.

A key priority in reaching this goal is expanding the Doddridge County Grantmaking Fund, which provides flexible resources to respond to emerging needs.  Strategic partnerships, including matching opportunities through the EQT Foundation, demonstrate how collaborative giving can multiply local impact.  By reaching the $2 million goal by June 30, 2026, the DCCF will be better positioned to support Doddridge County now and for generations to come.

Community members interested in contributing are encouraged to contact any DCCF Advisory Board member, visit www.pacfwv.com/dccf, or call Julie Posey at the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation at 304-428-4438.   All contributions are tax-deductible and may be directed to existing funds or used to establish a new named fund.
