Established in 2000 as a regional affiliate of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF), the DCCF has dedicated itself to improving the quality of life in Doddridge County through charitable giving and strategic grantmaking.
This fall, the Doddridge County Community Foundation (DCCF) celebrated its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of philanthropic impact in the community. In attendance were PACF board members and staff, DCCF advisory board members, nonprofit representatives of recent grant recipients, generous fund holders, and community leaders, highlighting the collective effort behind the Foundation’s impact.
What began as a single grantmaking fund has grown into a network of 26 unique funds, supporting a wide variety of local initiatives. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $660,000 in grants and scholarships to organizations and projects that strengthen the community. Recent grantees include the Doddridge County Humane Society, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Doddridge County Family Resource Network, and Doddridge County Farmers Market. These efforts are made possible thanks to the generous and ongoing support of local donors.
Looking ahead, DCCF aims to grow its assets to $2 million, with a particular focus on the Doddridge County Grantmaking Fund, the Foundation’s primary resource for responding to local needs and opportunities. Through a partnership with the EQT Foundation, gifts from active EQT leaseholders to the Doddridge County Grantmaking Fund can be matched $1 for $1 up to $10,000 per lease. All gifts to DCCF are tax-deductible and can be directed to support existing funds or to create a new named fund.
“This milestone highlights the generosity of our donors and the power of working together for the greater good of our community,” said Rick Oyler, Chairman of the DCCF Advisory Board. “We have grown to 26 unique funds through which we have contributed approximately $660,000 in grants and scholarships. We make a point to show up at local events like homecoming and football games to share information and educate the community about what we do.”
DCCF’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and strategic growth ensures that local philanthropy will continue to be a driving force for positive change in Doddridge County. As the year comes to a close, the Foundation encourages residents, donors, and local leaders to help reach its $2 million goal and to support the Doddridge County Grantmaking Fund. Contributions will strengthen the Foundation’s ability to provide grants, scholarships, and educational programs, empowering neighbors and organizations throughout the county and ensuring lasting community impact.
