The Doddridge County High School Alumni Association is excited to announce the creation of a new scholarship fund available for Doddridge County High School (DCHS) graduating seniors. The new DCHS Alumni Scholarship was recently created with the Doddridge County Community Foundation (DCCF) with the Foundation overseeing the assets, gift acceptance, and the scholarship application and selection process.

“The Alumni Association is excited to help all graduates be successful in their futures,” said Merelene Kelley, DCHS Alumni Association President.

“Doddridge County’s communities show an incredible amount of support for their students and a strong understanding of the value of education in helping to raise the quality of life in a community,” said Julie Posey, DCCF’s Development and Communications Officer. “With this scholarship fund started by the generous alumni of DCHS, the resources available to help Doddridge County’s students achieve their dreams continue to grow. It’s obvious that Doddridge County alumni care about their alma mater and want future generations to succeed.”

The scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors at DCHS who plan to attend a college, university, trade/technical schools, or certification program. Recipients must have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 2.0. Recipients of this scholarship shall be selected based on character, ability to overcome obstacles, academic promise, and/or community involvement.

The DCCF is a regional affiliate of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) which manages 180+ scholarship funds. Through the PACF’s consolidated online application, students are given the opportunity to apply for multiple scholarships through one easy application.
