“Amy is a dynamic leader, with deep knowledge of our donors and nonprofit partners. She has a proven record of success in her current role and is ideally positioned to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and expanded impact.” - Board Director Tom Whaling

The Board of Directors of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Nahley as the organization’s next Executive Director, following a nationwide search conducted by the Benefactor Group. In a field of exemplary candidates, Amy stood out for the depth of her understanding of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and her relationships with community leaders who can help advance the organization’s critical mission. Amy has served as the Foundation’s Senior Program Officer since 2023 and previously served as the Director of Purchasing and Auditing at the Wood County Board of Education.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amy Nahley as the next Executive Director of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation,” said Tom Whaling, the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Amy is a dynamic leader, with deep knowledge of our donors and nonprofit partners. She has a proven record of success in her current role and is ideally positioned to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and expanded impact.”

Nahley lives in Parkersburg with her husband, Chris, and their three children. She is an accomplished professional who leads the Foundation’s grantmaking efforts, managing a portfolio of approximately $4 million annually. Nahley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Auburn University and a Juris Doctor from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University.

Beyond her work at the PACF, Nahley is deeply engaged in community and leadership initiatives. She is committed to fostering collaboration among local organizations, strengthening nonprofit capacity, and supporting efforts that enhance the quality of life for her neighbors.

“Working with the Foundation has shown me the incredible impact we can have when we bring people together around shared goals,” said Nahley. “I’m eager to take on a broader leadership role—deepening connections with our board, fundholders, and community partners to advance the mission we all care about.”

As Executive Director, Nahley will oversee the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation’s operations and, in partnership with the board, guide its strategic direction. Under her leadership, the Foundation will remain a leading resource in helping Mid-Ohio Valley donors realize their personal philanthropic goals and bring together leaders across the region to address the urgent issues faced by our communities.

“Amy brings a proven record of strategic leadership that positions her well to lead us into this next chapter. Under her guidance, we are confident the Foundation will continue to grow, working with donors to establish new funds and deepening our collective impact in the community,” said Robert Wright, Chair of the Search Committee. “We extend our sincere gratitude to Fred Rader for his years of dedicated service and the lasting contributions he has made to our community.”

Nahley will assume the Executive Director role on January 1, 2026.
