Give Local MOV is a day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration and was initiated by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) in 2014. Last year, more than $518,000 was raised for sixty-seven local programs, causes, and organizations. The 12th annual Give Local MOV campaign will conclude with a 24-hour online giving day on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The lead sponsor, Superior Toyota, has shown continuous generosity since the campaign started in 2014, contributing a total of more than $338,000. They will once again provide a powerful head start to the campaign by donating $30,000 in matching funds.
Matching funds and prizes make giving through Give Local MOV a fun experience. This year, the Foundation hopes to raise $175,000 in matching funds, so every donation on May 6 will make a bigger impact.
“For the past 11 years, the community has consistently demonstrated dedication to supporting the causes that help to make this region a great place to live, work, and play,” said PACF’s Senior Development and Stewardship Officer Julie Posey. “Gifts made through Give Local MOV are maximized due to the generous support of our sponsors. Many organizations rely on Give Local MOV as a fundraising tool each year, and we are excited to welcome new agencies to participate in 2025.”
“Our sponsorship support is only possible because of our incredible team and our loyal customers,” said T.R. Hathaway, the owner of Superior Toyota. “Without the community’s support, we wouldn’t be able to provide this kind of funding to give back. We’re so thankful for this community, and we’re proud to help make a difference in the place we all call home.”
Long-time non-profit representative, Dina Braniff, shared shared, “Give Local MOV is a game changer in terms of successful fundraising and friend-raising. The Foundation hosts training sessions to help participants navigate the process. I totally underestimated the power of social media. If you choose to participate year after year as we have; it is so gratifying to set goals, try your best to meet them, all the while enjoying and celebrating successes side by side with all the other non-profits!”
The PACF does not charge any administrative fees in connection with organizing and hosting Give Local MOV. The Foundation hopes that others will join the effort by sponsoring or encouraging gifts to our region’s nonprofit and school partners.
