Sometimes, a small amount of funding can go a long way in addressing an urgent need. When an outside kennel door at the Doddridge County Humane Society recently fell off, they had to address the repair quickly. The PACF stepped in to help, providing a $375 grant that enabled the humane society to purchase a new kennel to replace the damaged one.

"Having functional kennels is necessary in order to allow the dogs more freedom so they can go from inside to outside," said Deborah Casteel with the humane society. "The dogs have more space, and they get fresh air. All of this figures into our success."

Last year, the Doddridge County Humane Society adopted out 65 dogs to residents of West Virginia and surrounding states.
