William and Patricia Boyd arrived in Parkersburg in 1977 when Mr. Boyd opened an office for the Ohio Company, a mid-western investment banking firm, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. After the firm was bought by a bank holding company, Mr. Boyd joined Legg Mason as a Vice President of Investments. Legg Mason has local offices on Murdoch Avenue in Parkersburg, and the headquarters is located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Patricia Boyd was born on September 9, 1934 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, a daughter of the late Raquel Facio. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Patricia was a member of the River City Runners Club, played golf at the Parkersburg Country Club, and enjoyed working out at Sherry's Custom Fitness. She also loved cooking, playing bridge, traveling, and dancing. Patricia was also a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Vienna, WV. She loved her family deeply and was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Patricia passed away on November 23, 2022.

William Boyd was born on November 1, 1937, in Martins Ferry, OH, to parents John Thompson Boyd, Sr. and Emma Boyd. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and long walks at the Belpre Civitan Park. He was a longtime stockbroker at wealth management companies like the Ohio Company, Legg Mason and Merrill Lynch. Bill won numerous awards during his career, including a recognition in the Ohio Company’s Hall of Fame in 1995. William passed away on May 18, 2021.
