Giving
Tamara "Tammy" Brown was born February 2, 1963, in Parkersburg, a daughter of Robert D. and the late Lorna K. Baker Burwell. She was a 1981 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a graduate of Marshall University School of Nursing with a BSN Degree. She worked for 18 years for the Wood County Board of Education as a school nurse. Tammy worked over 15 years at St. Joseph's Hospital and Camden Clark Medical Center Hospital as an Obstetrics nurse. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with family. Tammy was a long time member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church where she was active in the children's church. She was a faithful Christian and dearly loved the Lord.
This permanent charitable fund is used to assist school nurses in their service to children in Wood County Schools.
Grants from this Fund have supported:
- Franklin Elementary School to purchase "Stop the Bleed" kits;
- Blennerhassett Middle School to purchase an otoscope; and
- Parkersburg South High School to purchase an air purifier and filter for the school's health office.
