With vision and thoughtfulness, past Glenwood resident, Marie Ausenheimer, made many charitable gifts. Marie's Glenwood deposit refund from Glenwwod was used to endow the Senior Arts Fund through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. The fund supports arts programming of benefit to seniors. Marie Ausenheimer was born and grew up in Albany, Ohio, and she graduated from Ohio University. She moved to Parkersburg with her husband Walter in 1964. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg and of the chapter L of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Over the years, she was active in the Parkersburg Women's Club and the American Association of University Women. She was a faithful volunteer for St. Joseph's Hospital for many years. Reading and playing bridge were two of her favorite hobbies. Her husband, Walter, was a local business executive and served as volunteer Executive Director of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation after his retirement. Mrs. Ausenheimer passed away in 2004.
