Save a Kitty Feral Cat Program was formed in July 2004 in an effort to educate citizens on the success of Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR) as practiced by Alley Cat Allies.

Since 2004, Save a Kitty has worked to sterilize over 6,800 cats in the Parkersburg, WV area and in so doing reduced the number of local humane shelter cat entries and euthanizations by near 25%. TNR is a total management plan in which stray and feral cats already living out in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians.

To help support the Save A Kitty Feral Cat Program for the long-term, the organization's Board of Directors established an endowment fund with the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. This fund will provide annual, steady monetary support for the organization and is an excellent giving option for individuals who want to support the program for many years to come!
