Saundra Lee "Saunie" Farson (Hardman), age 84, formerly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home in Saint Johns, Florida, on Saturday, January 25, 2020. She was born November 13, 1935, in Weston, West Virginia, to Benson Bradshaw and Annabel Lee Hardman.

Saunie was a graduate of Weston High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She married William Joseph Farson on July 19, 1959, in Weston. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Clarksburg and in St. Joseph's Hospital and the office of Dr. Lyle Vincent in Parkersburg. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. As a member of The Junior League, Saunie volunteered her time to many organizations including the Henry Logan Children's Home, where she was a board member, and the Colonial House senior living facility.

Saunie will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, loyal friend, terrific cook, and the "life of the party." Her interest in others shone through in her bright smile and easy conversation. Saunie's legacy includes the values of kindness and the importance of strong family bonds that she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

To honor a person who was a "wonderful person" and always willing to help others, her husband and children established the Saundra Hardman Farson Nursing Scholarship with the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. The fund will forever support an individual in financial need who wishes to pursue a nursing degree.
