Oran Sherman (Bud) Baker, 85 passed away on August 4, 2015. He was born February 7, 1930 in Williamstown, WV. Mr. Baker was the son of Oran Franklin Baker and Hazel Ernestine (Keck) Baker and was raised in Williamstown, WV. Mr. Baker was proud of the fact that he was a fifth great-grandson of Captain John Baker an early settler of Marshall County, WV. Mr. Baker was a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 - 1952. Mr. Baker was co-founder of Eddie's Auto Parts and Hilltop Auto Wrecking at their present locations. He was a life member of the American Legion, VFW, Elks, and Eagles in Parkersburg and Belpre Masonic Lodge #609 in Belpre, Ohio.

A talkative, funny, outgoing man, Bud wasn’t one to keep a good thing to himself. Mr. Baker enjoyed working on his farm in Little Hocking, Ohio which he purchased in 1963. All his life, working on this farm was his favorite hobby. He’d go out every morning and ride his tractor along the fence line so he could stop and chat up the neighbors. He knew everyone, he loved little kids, and he just liked having lots of people around all the time.

Joanne was born on August 26, 1933, in Wood County. She had worked for her husband at Eddie’s Auto Parts as the office manager. She enjoyed crafting and loved her dog, Cody.

Mr. Baker and his wife Joanne's philanthropy also included establishing a nursing scholarship, a scholarship for hands-on training for tradesmen, and a perpetual, annual cash scholarship for the "Shop with a Cop" programs in both Parkersburg, WV, and Marietta, Ohio.
