Gordon “Terry” Clovis lived in Pennsboro, WV. He was born October 27, 1936, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Arthur R. Clovis, Jr. from Pennsboro, WV and Georgia Maxine Cantwell Clovis from Cairo, WV. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in 1954 where he was a member of the Air Force ROTC. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Commerce from Ohio University in Athens, OH. Terry was commissioned an officer in the United States Air Force where he served as a jet bomber pilot on combat crews for over eight years. Upon his discharge, he lived in North Carolina for some time before he moved back home. He worked in various areas of management pertaining to the insurance and financial industry. For several years, he was the owner/operator of Clovis Farm of Deerwalk, WV, until his semi-retirement in 1998.

He was baptized in the Methodist Church in his early teens and subscribed to the True Christian Faith. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, both as a spectator and a participant. In his senior years, he especially enjoyed attending local high school sporting events and his association with the Parkersburg South High School sports family. He was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity since 1956, Woodmen of the World since 1958, and a member of the Legacy Society of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation.

Terry passed away at the age of 87, on March 20, 2024. He was laid to rest in the Cairo IOOF Cemetery with full military honors conducted.
