The George H. Clinton Scholarship Fund was established by Edwina Clinton through a bequest. This scholarship fund provides support to a student graduating from any accredited high school in Wood County, who has been admitted to a college or university as a full-time student.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, a student must have a grade point average of at least a 3.0 and must be interested in the study of media communications. The field of media communications includes, but is not limited to, broadcasting, journalism and advertising.

George H. Clinton was for many years the Vice President and General Manager of WPAR Radio in Parkersburg. His wife, Edwina, graduated from Mountain State College and attended Morris Harvey College, currently the University of Charleston. Edwina was a homemaker and member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she helped found the Crusader's Sunday School Class. She also was a Girl Scout leader for many years. George and Edwina had one daughter, Barbara, and a son, Gary, and four grandchildren.
