The Gail L. Hartshorn Memorial Fund memorializes the hard work, dedication and loyalty of Gail Hartshorn, who served as the Wood County Emergency Services Director for fourteen years.

Mr. Hartshorn was killed in a boating accident on the Little Kanawha River near his Happy Valley residence. Family and friends established this fund in memory of the man they loved and respected. The fund provides support for volunteer fire departments in Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Ritchie, Jackson and Doddridge Counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio.

Gail Hartshorn's legacy lives on through the fund honoring him, which is helping create a better, safer place for the people of this community.
