The Parkersburg Day Nursery, established in 1908, was the oldest childcare center in West Virginia. As a non-profit organization, the Day Nursery operated with the following mission for a century: "We will strive to promote a child's physical, mental, emotional and social growth within a caring environment."

The Parkersburg Day Nursery was dedicated to caring for children whose parents or guardians are in need of quality childcare and to educating the children in its care to become more independent, preparing prepare them for their academic and social life in the years to come.

Having served the children of our area for more than 100 years, it was a hard decision to close the doors of the Parkersburg Day Nursery. Though, through this Fund, the Parkersburg Day Nursery mission continues on providing grants to support programs and causes that aligned with the Nursery's mission.
