The David Edward Farson Scholarship Fund was created by Thomas and Juliette Farson in memory of their son David. David was born in 1969 and graduated from Parkersburg High School (PHS) in 1987 and Marshall University in 1991. He was a good student and named defensive player of the year on the PHS football team. At Marshall he was on the Dean’s list all four years in the College of Business. He traveled to California and North Carolina for summer jobs and had a love of new experiences. David passed a year after his college graduation in 1992. 

Selection of the recipients is based on financial need and academic achievement. Scholarship recipients must be a PHS senior planning to attend Marshall University.
