Aubry Sands was born March 7, 1940 to Earl A. and Artie Sands. He attended PHS before transferring to Williamstown High School and graduated in 1958. In 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, Connie Reynolds and had 2 children, Denise Sands Burch and Andrew Earl Sands. The love of his life was his 3 grandchildren, Emily Burch, Talbott Sands and Sarah Sands and he loved spending one on one time with each of them.

In 1997 Aubry retired from Air Products & Chemical. He owned & operated many local businesses including, A & A Sands Construction~ (home building), S&R Meat processing, Ole Country Processing, he was co-owner of United Livestock Sales and owner of Ohio River Feeds. He was a licensed Auctioneer and for over 35 years supported and volunteered his time to many counties different fairs, the FFA (Future Farmers of America), Wood County 4-H and the Wood County Ham and Bacon Sales. He enjoyed attending Williamstown High School football games and reminiscing with old school buddies. He was an avid hunter and an honorary lifetime member of the Little Kanawha Hunt Club where he enjoyed working his bird dogs. Aubry had several bird dogs thru out his lifetime, but 2 memorable favorites were champion pointers Rex and Skip!

Aubry was a "Good Old Hand Shake Boy" that never met a stranger and a man's word was good enough for him.

The Aubry Earl Sands Memorial Fund will be used for the purpose of supporting 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) activities and programs for young people in Wood County, WV. Applications for support shall be made using the Foundation's Community Action Grant Program.
