Impactful grantmaking

The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our region by investing in the people, organizations, and ideas that make our communities thrive. Through a wide range of grantmaking programs, we support initiatives, projects, and people.  By stewarding a diverse portfolio of funds, including Board-directed, donor-advised, scholarship, affiliate, and agency funds, we're able to respond to both broad regional priorities and targeted opportunities across our 11-county service area.  Our grant programs are designed to empower nonprofits, uplift individuals, and advance meaningful community impact.

Whether funding is donor-directed or awarded through a competitive process, our focus remains the same:  to create lasting, positive change.  With deep knowledge of the region and strong relationships across the nonprofit sector, the Foundation serves as a trusted partner, collaborator, and champion for community progress.

Competitive & Board Discretionary Grantmaking

A portion of the PACF's annual grantmaking is distributed through competitive grant cycles to benefit nonprofit organizations throughout our region.  These grants are awarded through the Foundation's Community Action Grants Program, SUN Grants Program, and proactive grantmaking.

Donor-directed Grantmaking

In addition to Board-directed and Affiliate grants, many of the grants distributed by the PACF are made possible by generous individuals, families, and organizations who have established donor-advised, designated, agency endowment, and scholarship funds.

Initiative Partners

The Foundation's Initiative Partners are imperative to the growth and success of the PACF's Initiatives. We are grateful for our Partners' continued support and look forward to working together next year.
